One Injured When Car Crashes Into Store

One individual sustained injuries Thursday morning when a car crashed through the front doors of a busy market.

According to Lawrenceburg Police Chief Terry Shay the crash occurred between 9:30 and 9:45 Thursday morning at Quick Stop Market #202, 300 West Gaines Street.

The driver of a Lincoln Towncar was apparently unable to stop, Shay said. The car crashed through the doors and traveled to the rear of the store before stopping. The car knocked over several shelving units and caused extensive damages.

One customer, Shay reported, was unable to move out of the way before being struck by the car. He was transported to Crockett Hospital by members of the Lawrence County Ambulance Service. Shay indicated that his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The driver appeared uninjured and was able to drive his car away once it was removed from the store building.
